Kathrin Wildner: Faith is the Place – Neue Methoden der transdisziplinären Stadtforschung
Das Forschungs- und Ausstellungsprojekt „Global Prayers – Erlösung und Befreiung in der Stadt“ nimmt Fragen nach gegenwärtigen Erscheinungen des Religiösen im Stadtraum zum Anlass in transdisziplinären Fallstudien neue Verfahren der Wissensproduktion für die Stadtforschung zu erproben. Im Anschluss an Global Prayers stellt die Stadtethnologin Kathrin Wildner ethnographische und künstlerische Verfahren vor, wie Multi-sited Ethnography, Sound Recordings und Interventionen. Mit diesem vergleichenden und transdisziplinären Zugang zur Untersuchung und Interpretation komplexer urbaner Konfigurationen von Istanbul, Mexiko-Stadt, Lagos, Beirut oder Berlin stellt sie die Herausforderungen solcher innovativer Verfahren für die aktuelle Stadtforschung zur Diskussion. Kathrin Wildner: Faith is the Place – New Methods of transdisciplinary urban studies
The research and exhibition project “Global Prayers – Erlösung und Befreiung in der Stadt” takes questions on current appearances of the religious in the city as motive to develop new transdisciplinary methods of knowledge production in urban studies. Kathrin Wildner will present ethnographical and artistic methods, such as Multi-sited Ethnography, Sound Recordings and interventions. With this comparative and transdisciplinary approach to investigate and interpret complex urban configurations of Istanbul, Mexico City, Lagos, Beirut or Berlin, she brings the challenges of such innovative methods for current urban research up for discussion.
